Midwinter Light
Please come and join us for an afternoon of words, music and good company to help warm up January. Everyone is welcome – members and non-members!
Our theme is mid-winter light – in the broadest sense – and we will have a mixture of poetry, prose and songs to inspire, entertain and delight. We won’t forget it’s Robert Burns’ birthday either.
The venue is the splendid Wingfield Barns and the ticket price includes tea and cakes.
The singers are led by Janet Koralambe.
Come and meet new and old friends and ‘let the light pour in’.
Christmas Sale at Sandlings Sculpture Garden
BUY A UNIQUE WORK OF ART FOR SOMEONE THIS CHRISTMAS
Waveney and Blyth Arts is an arts charity known for promoting the creativity of local and regional artists through a series of extended exhibitions of sculpture for the garden as well as for interiors.
However, for the very first time we are mounting an exhibition which will be open throughout December to attract people who may be looking for that something special which would make a unique gift for your nearest and dearest at this seasonal time.
The venue is Potton Hall (IP17 3EF) at the heart of the Sandlings just off the B1125 between Blythburgh and Westleton. It is known as a centre for health and beauty treatments as well as being open to the general public for refreshments and light meals in its Africa themed Yurt Café-Bistro. Opening hours are from 10 to 4.
The exhibition is in the adjacent formal gardens of the Hall and entry is free. Follow the orange arrows.
Creative Beachcombing report – an enjoyable few hours at Covehithe and Benacre.
A small but enthusiastic group met together at St Andrew’s Church, Covehithe at 11.30am. Simon shared some of his finds and creative art-e-facts with the group.
We then walked north along the clifftop until we reached the beach at Benacre where it was decided to stop and eat our picnics before getting down to business. Read more.
Trader Partner Discount Scheme
We have partnered with local businesses to bring our members various discounts. W&BA members will receive an email confirming eligibility for discount in some local shops and the date when your membership is due for renewal. Please either print this or keep the email on your phone as proof of your membership.
Please be prepared to show proof of your W&BA membership to obtain the discounts. (Some of the traders have also respectfully asked that discount is requested discreetly.)
We hope to bring other businesses in partnership with W&BA in the future. The businesses currently offering a discount to W&BA members are listed on our Trader Partner page.
