From Friday 14 to Sunday 16 September the Seagull hosts an extraordinarily high calibre line up for the Lowestoft Jazz Weekend.
First up on Friday 14 at 8pm is the legendary Liane Carroll and her trio. Regulars at Ronnie Scott’s jazz club in London Liane brings a great voice, a huge personality and a treasure store of popular songs and jazz standards. Tickets £15.
On Saturday 15 September at 5pm local longtime jazz man, and double bass virtuoso, Gill Alexander leads a line up of top quality musicians. There is no fixed charge for this event and the audience are invited to contribute what they think is fair.
On Saturday 15 September at 8pm brilliant pianist Darius Brubeck (son of one of the all time greats of Jazz) performs with his highly regarded quartet – a fantastic coup for Lowestoft. Tickets £15.
On Sunday 16 September at 2pm Ray Simmons and friends take us on a journey through jazz from the early years, through swing to modern as they present their fathomless repertoire in ‘Jazz Unlimited’. There is no fixed charge for this event and the audience are invited to contribute what they think is fair.
Also on Sunday 16 September at 5.30pm established local band, Pangaea, play a wide range of modern music with some great Latin jazz. There is no fixed charge for this event and the audience are invited to contribute what they think is fair.
