From 4th October to 15th November, Southwold Arts Centre are pleased to present and exhibition featuring the work of local artist and tutor Malcolm Cudmore.
Malcolm is a professional artist and tutor working from his studio on the outskirts of Bungay. Specialising in figurative subjects – using traditional painting and drawing techniques, landscapes, figures and still lifes are at the heart of his work. Where possible, his subjects are captured directly at the time in oil paint or graphite and often feature the characters and views around his home in the Waveney Valley. Malcolm is Chair of the Harleston and Waveney Art Trail and Vice Chair of the Norfolk and Norwich Art Circle.
He also works in the studio with coloured pencils and has written and demonstrated frequently across the UK about the specific skills he uses with this medium. His artwork is featured on the packaging of the Derwent Artist coloured pencil range and he has demonstrated and run workshops at The Pencil Museum in Keswick, Cumbria. He is a Silver Signature member of the UK Coloured Pencil Society and was recently commissioned to produce several articles on technique for the Dorling Kindersley book “Artists Drawing Techniques” which was published internationally in August 2017.
