Come and join us for a unique Day of Printmaking Demonstrations on Saturday July 1st 2017 at both Designermakers21 and The Corn Hall in Diss, from 11am to 4pm.
The excellent exhibition ‘From Hockney to Grayson Perry’ contemporary British realism in printmaking will be on display at The Corn Hall.
Demonstrating alongside the exhibition will be 2 printmakers
DI GRIFFITHS – demonstrating WOOD ENGRAVING nd NON-TOXIC ETCHING Her artists books and prints and handmade cards.
MIKE FENTON – demonstrating LINOCUT carving. Prints onto paper and textiles, lampshades and cushions
Over the road at Designermakers21 will be 5 more printmakers.
CUPISS PRESS – demonstrating traditional LETTERPRESS. Opportunity to ‘have a go’ (small fee to cover materials costs)
MARCO RAYMENT – resident printmaker demonstrating SCREENPRINT Opportunity to ‘have a go’ (small fee to cover materials costs).
LOUISE MACLAREN – demonstrating with a new gadget, the unique press that ‘fits into your handbag’ the SLAMA hand press. Prints etching, drypoint and linocut plates.
ZELDA EADY – Tutor at Curwen Press – demonstrating LINOCUT AND DRYPOINT printing using a portable etching press. Opportunities to ‘have a go’ (small fee to cover materials costs)
ANNETTE ROLSTON (resident printmaker and organiser) – demonstrating colourful MONOPRINTING and STENCIL printing using a portable etching press. COLLOGRAPH plates on display.Opportunities to ‘have a go’ (small fee to cover materials costs)
All artist will have tools of the trade, printing blocks, specialist books, handmade cards, framed and unframed prints. Opportunities to ask questions, watch demonstrations by professionals, ‘have a go’ yourself, sign up for future workshops.
