On Friday 20 April at 7.30pm Brian Friel’s classic play ‘Dancing at Lughnasa comes to the Seagull. Five sisters and their frail, elderly brother live out their lives in rural Ireland in the 1930s, hoping beyond hope for events which will free them from their domestic solitude. This beautiful tales is both magical and tragic as the sisters aspire to a happiness they may not ever achieve. Tickets £11/£9
The play takes place around the Celtic festival of Lughnasa which marks a bitter harvest for the sisters and their frail elder brother who has returned from life as a missionary in Africa.
On Saturday 21 April at 3pm Professor Kaos and his Science Mania show presents ‘Meet the Scientists!’ . This is your chance to meet the world’s greatest scientific brains on stage in a truly explosive yet craftily informative show. Tickets £5/£3.
On Sunday 22 April from 7pm Andy Davis hosts the every popular, family friendly Seagull Karaoke Night in the foyer bar. A great supportive atmosphere, good music, wholesome fun ….. what’s not tyo like? Admission free.
From Thursday 26 to Saturday 28 April at 7.30pm the Quaysiders present, ‘The Crucible’, by Arthur Miller. This classic tale of hysteria, fear and revenge is set in an early New England community where it turns out that all too familiar contaminants, ignorance and prejudice, have travelled with the settlers across the Atlantic from ‘the Old Country’. Tickets £10/£9.
