‘Water’s Edge’ features a range of high quality work from 35 East Anglian artists.
One aim of the exhibition is to support the amazing work of the Blue Planet programmes by raising awareness of the impact on wildlife, its habitat and the environment caused by waste plastics in our rivers, lakes and seas.
Apart from integrating key facts about plastic pollution into the event, all artists involved are donating their exhibition fees to The Ocean CleanUp team, who are currently towing a 600 metre long boom to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch (an area of the Pacific Ocean approximately 3 times the size of France) that is covered with waste plastic. Here they will begin the 5 year process of removing and then recycling the plastic they collect. Funds are needed to ensure this project develops further and that more booms are built in order to assist in the Pacific or perhaps to help clean up the 4 other ‘Garbage’ patches in our oceans.
Come along to see the excellent range of work on display and to show your support for this worthwhile venture.
