Cliff Edge Theatre
After the sudden death of their father, two sisters are faced with the trauma of loss, grief and rivalry during the build up to his funeral.
Q & A after the show with writer/director, actors and Kevin Vaughan, Chief Executive Officer of the Pear Tree Fund.
We are a brand new company for Suffolk writers and actors, with a vision to write, perform and promote new plays with a bold, risky, unsettling edge.
Daddy’s Girl is our premiere production which dives into the trauma of suicide, loss, the complex, competitive relationships between siblings and the lasting effects of childhood trauma. Among the distressing build up to the funeral, there are unsettling, humorous flashes in this dark tragedy. Suitable for ages 16+ with scenes some may find upsetting.
The Seagull Theatre
The Nutcracker.
The cast and crew for this year’s Christmas production at the popular Seagull Theatre in Pakefield are putting their final touches to this year’s festive offering. The Nutcracker, a festive mix of dancing, song and magic based on the traditional story of Clara and the Sugar Plumb fairy having adventures in Toyland, has been specially created for the theatre.
The Seagull recently had a sell-out success with its community production of the Addams Family Musical in October, and like that show, the Nutcracker features a community cast drawn from local talent, which has been led and directed by industry professionals. The show, which features many children from Lowestoft, has been in rehearsal since September and everyone is now getting very excited to show off the fruits of their efforts.
The Seagull Theatre
Seekers and Dreamers at The Seagull Theatre, Lowestoft on Monday 5 December 7.30pm.
Come and join us for a celebration of Christmas in words and carols (both old and new). Every year the community of the Seagull comes together in December to celebrate the festive season with a night of words and music. Members of our community play the instruments whilst others give readings and the audience join in singing of carols, some familiar and some less well known.
The event includes some festive refreshments and is totally free to attend. We ask that people book in advance which makes it easier for us to plan, but everyone is welcome to come along and join in.
