Our Rural Heritage in Words & Images

A Museum Live Streamed Talk

Join us for a live streamed talk from the Museum of East Anglian Life, with the collections & interpretations manager Lisa Harris. She will journey into the world of celebrated oral historian George Ewart Evans, author of ‘The Pattern Under the Plough’ and other influential books.

The talk will feature some of his original field recordings, David Gentleman’s book illustrations, East Anglian Film Archive documentary footage of farm work in the 1930s and agricultural implements from the time.

The Museum of East Anglian is in Stowmarket, Suffolk and has a collection that focuses on the production of food and social history relating to it, reflective of the region’s strong agricultural character.
