3-5pm, 7 December 2024
Myglassroom in Mellis IP23 8EE
Tickets £10
Waveney and Blyth Arts is pleased to offer an opportunity for up to a dozen people to visit the workshop of one of the country’s foremost glass artists.
Surinder Warboys has been producing architectural stained glass and experimental painting on glass at her studio in Mellis near Diss since 1991. You may have seen two of her works at WBA’s recent Sandlings sculpture show at Potton Hall.
Her stained glass windows are at a number of churches in our area, including Fressingfield, Great Ashfield, Palgrave and Mellis itself. Her work has featured in many exhibitions, galleries and publications. She also teaches this very traditional yet skilfully updated art. You can see more about her at www.myglassroom.com
On Saturday 7 December Surinder will welcome visitors to the barn and studio where she lives and produces her work. There will be the chance to see the processes behind the glass works, then see a slide presentation of the work she has produced and installed around the country.
The event will be from 3 to 5pm and the ticket price of £10 includes a traditional Punjabi afternoon tea of freshly prepared pakoras (vegetarian), with homemade tamarind sauce, mint yoghurt or apple chutney; and a sugar-free fig and pistachio sweet.
Fresh mint tea, coffee and cordial will also be served.
There will also be the opportunity to purchase small pieces.
Unfortunately the premises are not suitable for wheelchairs.
