I have been an urban sketcher for several years and draw people, places and buildings wherever I go. I enjoy watching people going about their everyday lives, taking pleasure in simple things, such as drinking a cup of coffee, looking out of a train window, or having a conversation with a friend.
I try to capture the movement and rhythm of people in motion in my artwork. I am inspired by the beauty of the dancing body form, or the swoosh of the swirling limbs on a skateboard.
Buildings, structures and ‘unpretty’ urban landscapes also hold a fascination for me, as well as overlooked parts of the rural landscape.
These subjects are all explored in ink, watercolour, acrylic paint and linocut in my artwork.
