GLORY AND GRANDEUR – Pakefield Singer’s next concert
The sound of many voices and grand organ combining to fill St Peter Mancroft’s unique and beautiful spaces. Saturday 24th June.
For our next concert we will be singing in the grandeur of St Peter Mancroft Church in Norwich, and the programme has been chosen to showcase both the renowned Collins organ and the glory of choral singing within this magnificent building.
The main work is Vierne’s majestic Messe Solennelle, for choir and two organs, which is rarely performed as few venues boast two quality instruments. At St Peter Mancroft we have the luxury of two splendid organs and so this is a unique opportunity to hear this glorious work.
The programme also includes motets and anthems by Mendelssohn, including O for the Wings of a Dove and the Easter Hymn from Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana. Our soloist is Katalin Pentice an international prize-winning soprano who will perform Mozart’s exquisite Exsultate Jubilate.
The augmented choir will be conducted by the charismatic and highly experienced vocal specialist and choir trainer Vetta Wise, with Tim Patient at the organ.
Tickets – £12.50 (age 16 and under free)
