Comical Cats

Bungay author and historian, Chris Reeve, will be performing some narrative verses that he has written, relating to various comical cats who get involved with significant events in Bungay History, from Roman times to the present day, for the Thursday Lunchtime Concert in St. Mary’s Church, 1 – 1.45 pm on November 14th.
The verses will be accompanied by music specially composed for the event.
Admission is free, donations welcome, payable at the door.
The verses are suitable for all ages, so children and grand-children are welcome.

Poetry in Aldeburgh Festival

This year’s Poetry in Aldeburgh Festival will run from Friday 8 to
Sunday 10 November. The weekend features workshops, readings and
interactive poetry events. This year’s theme is water.
Featured poets include Imtiaz Dharker, Caroline Bird, Sarah Howe,
Blake Morrison, Mimi Khalvati, Arji Manuelpillai, Jacob Sam-La Rose,
Khairani Barokka and Kit Fan.
In addition, the Festival main venue, Ballroom Arts, will be hosting
two related exhibitions of visual art throughout the weekend:
Confluence II by Simon Carter and Jevan Watkins Jones and Informed
Speculation by Simon Read.

Garner+Read return to Art Fair East

Hilary Garner & Norma Read will be sharing Stand 49 at Art Fair East this year.

This will be their third year exhibiting at this prestigious art fair, which is one of the eastern region’s largest and liveliest. This year the art fair is at The Assembly House in Norwich, next door to the Theatre Royal, and is open to the public from Friday 8th – Sunday 10th November.

Pygmalion touring in November

“Cherup Capt’n and buy a flower offa paw gerl” – thus begins the story of Eliza Doolittle, taken under the wing of Professor Henry Higgins, a linguistic expert. He has made a bet that within six months he can transform the scruffy, Cockney girl into a ‘proper lady’ and pass her off as a Duchess.

With a fabulous cast and sumptuous costumes, the tour begins in Halesworth on the 14th November, before travelling to Bungay, Laxfield, Beccles, Diss and Wingfield ending on the 23rd.
